The Coating and Graphic Arts program aims to provide a global forum for the presentation of original fundamental research, practical case studies, new developments/sustainable solutions, and diverse panel discussion from all areas of the paper and board coating, converting, and graphic arts industries.

We invite submissions for oral and poster presentations. Cross-cutting research and developments providing sustainable packaging solutions are highly encouraged.

•    Barrier and functional coatings for water, water vapor, oil and gas barriers, antimicrobial,
     flame retardance, anti-static, anti-corrosion, release, and other unique applications
•    Coatings for inkjet, electrophotographic and other printing processes
•    Coated labels and liners
•    Flexible packaging – barrier coated paper vis-à-vis plastic films
•    Retail ready packaging
•    Alternatives to single use plastics – concepts and opportunities
•    Market trends in lightweighting of packaging
•    Advancements in recyclability, compostability, and/or biodegradability of fiber-based products

•    Multi-layer/curtain coatings technologies

PLEASE NOTE: Full manuscripts are not required to be a part of the technical program.  However, if you would like to be a contender for the coveted Best Paper Award with potential for publication in the TAPPI Journal, a full technical manuscript is required.

The recipient of the Best Student Paper receives a Scholarship in the amount of $1,000 along with the recognition for the work.
