Paula Hajakian

United States Gypsum (USG) Company

Paula Hajakian is a paper industry professional with 35 years of experience and has been with United States Gypsum Company for the last 16 years. Prior to USG, she worked in many roles and locations with Rock-Tenn Company (now WestRock), Simkins Industries Beveridge Paper, The Newark Group (now Greif Inc.), and Akzo Chemicals.

Hajakian holds a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering and a Six Sigma Black Belt. She has authored or co-authored six patents, co-authored one article for TAPPI Journal, and presented papers and chaired sessions at numerous conferences. She has been a TAPPI member for over 30 years and currently serves as chair of the Paper and Board Division, subcommittee chair for Forming, Pressing and Papermaking TIPs, chair for the Benchmarking Committee for the TAPPI Women in Industry Division and is a TAPPI Mentor. She was honored as a TAPPI Fellow in 2016.

Maja Mejsner graduated from Wroclaw University of Technology, Poland earning an engineering degree in mechanics in 2001 and a master’s degree in management and marketing in 2003. She joined PMP in 2001 where she held many leadership roles. In 2020, after the company was acquired, she joined Valmet and is currently the Director, Service SMM Business Unit.

Mejsner is passionate about coaching and public speaking. During her career she has given numerous presentations at industry international conferences in USA, China, Australia, New Zealand , Russia, Turkey, France, Italy and Poland. In 2015, she co-established TAPPI’s PIMA Women in Industry Division to actively support women in their career development and is currently vice chair of the Division.

Mejsner lives in Poland with her husband and son.
