Brookshire Moore Superintendent of the Year  

The PIMA Brookshire Moore Superintendent of the Year award recognizes the mill superintendent who has shown high personal standards and professional management qualities which contribute to the betterment of those under their management and in their company

Paul Frederickson worked over 45 years in the paper industry before retiring in 2020. He has worked for the Rhinelander Paper Company, Lake Superior Paper, Consolidated/Stora Enso Biron Mill, AstenJohnson, Boise/PCA, and Domtar Kingsport Mill. He held multiple positions throughout his career including machine operator, shift supervisor/team leader, paper machine superintendent, sales and service, corporate technology papermaking specialist and production manager.

QCS Area Technical Manager
Packaging Corporation of America


Larry Swatsenberg joined Packaging Corporation of America in 2014 as the QCS area technical manager where he is responsible for modernizing the quality control systems and improving paper quality. He migrated the maintenance and optimization of the QCS systems from a contracted OEM function to one that is now done in-house. Prior to that Swatsenberg was a co-founder of ICON, and has worked for GE and ABB.

The Glen T. Renegar award recognizes a PIMA member who has devoted an extraordinary amount of time
and leadership to help make the PIMA Division a better, stronger and sustainable organization.

Michael Subilia is a district representative with Nalco Water. He is a 2010 Chemical Engineering graduate from the University of Maine, a Six Sigma Black Belt, and a member of TAPPI since 2010. Subilia just completed his term as PIMA Program Committee Chair and is now filling the role of PIMA’s Affiliate Chair. He is passionate about leadership and professional development for aspiring young professionals.

Pat Dixon has been in the industrial automation industry since 1984. He graduated from Miami University in 1987 with a degree in Pulp and Paper Science and Engineering. Dixon is a licensed professional engineer in four states, certified project manager (PMP) and President of DPAS-INC, a consulting/contracting firm providing industrial automation and project management services.

Grace Farrington is a 2021 graduate of the University of Maine. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering with a Pulp and Paper Management Certificate. As a freshman, she completed a summer internship with Verso (now Pixelle Specialty Solutions) as well as two co-op rotations with WestRock in West Point, Virginia. With each undergraduate job experience she spent time in the technical, utilities and recovery and paper departments completing value added projects. At the University of Maine, Farrington was the TAPPI secretary in 2019 and co-president in 2020-2021. She is currently employed with Sappi North America at the Somerset Mill in Skowhegan, Maine, as a process engineer in the utilities and recovery department.
